DETAILS: DSHS is inviting community members to an informational meeting about a construction project that is scheduled to begin this fall at the department’s main campus located in Central Austin. The project will include removing and replacing concrete panels from the building’s exterior and replacing some of the building’s mechanical systems. Surrounding areas may be affected by occasional noise and road closures. The work is expected to begin in early November and will be complete by Spring 2014. The community meeting will include representatives from DSHS, the Texas Facilities Commission and Satterfield and Pontikes Construction Inc.
